Dear Family Law Members: The Superior Court Direction dated June 26th has generated a question relating to scheduling a new or fresh motion, in an existing case, which was not scheduled before the closing of the courts. The June 26th notice does not speak directly to this issue, however, the "assignment court confirmation” form does, and counsel would complete the form and send it in in the same manner as provided in part II(2) of the June 26 notice. The page number restriction for affidavits will be enforced.

“How do we get new first appearance dates?”
Answer: “The filing office is presently working on issuing dates for cases from March 16 to the current date. Notification of dates will be made by way of a phone call or email. For all newly issued applications, the filing office is working on providing the first appearance date when the application is issued. This will commence the week of July 6.” (From George van Hoogenhuize)
